Reiki
The definition of Reiki is the channeling of Universal Life Force. Modern written records tell us that Reiki was being practiced in the 1800's. The origins of Reiki are much more ancient but no records exist other than channeled information. Reiki energy is gentle, loving and can only be used for good. All ages can benefit from this healing ray. Reiki perfectly complements all Western, Eastern and natural procedures, practices and philosophies. Reiki is capable of healing on the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual levels. Reiki involves light touch on the body and is very relaxing, soothing and enlightening.
My own experiences with Reiki have been very positive and sometimes miraculous. Although I certainly explored and practiced energy medicine and the power of the mind, I was guided to Reiki for my own healing experience. I became a Master Teacher in April 2000. Each of my attunements had a 21 day break in between them. I truly believe that is appropriate. I feel to give multiple attunements in a weekend workshop cheats the individual of an extraordinary experience. I received a powerful healing from each of my attunements and I am deeply grateful for that.
I have learned that rather than utilize Reiki symbols I simply allow the Life Force to flow through me and guide me, secure in the knowledge that it will go where it is needed the most. I recognize that I am the human part of a "healing team" and I leave my ego at the door! I don't try to control or manipulate the Life Force. Of course, I did experiment with all the master symbols that were given to me by my master teacher. After a while, I decided that using the symbols brought too much ego into the healing session.
When I pass attunements I do so for individuals or couples only. I so wanted to make this a sacred initiation/journey for the student. Everyone then gets the attention they deserve and are free to ask questions and practice without fear of taking up too much of the group's time. It is all about YOU during attunements. I also make sure all of my students know how to meditate, ground, and practice basic energetic hygiene before they leave class. Depending on the student, Reiki attunements last 3-4 hours.
Reiki has made a huge difference in my family's life. I have witnessed many miracles both in my own healthcare and my children and husband's. I even gave birth at home to my second child using Reiki and it was the most sacred experience of my life. Reiki sessions with me are deeply relaxing, rejuvenating, and full of encouragement to live fearlessly and blissfully.
